Three Outreaches in One Week

Busy week this week...and we LOVE it! Tuesday night we had our weekly Broken Pieces outreach on Whitehall Street in the ATL. We had about fifty volunteers from several churches who came to help us as we fed and ministered to about seventy of our homeless friends. Because of support from faithful parnters like YOU, we were able to bless many of them with tube socks, skull-caps and new underwear. Some of our volunteers also brought a few coats and hoodies. It was cold outside, but we had four large trays of hot lasagna for them, provided by a team of our volunteers from Oak Hill Baptist in Griffin, Ga. We preached, several responded to the message, and one lady we have been ministering to for years testified that Jesus Christ has completely changed her life! She told me, "Pastor Joel,I've been listening to you out here all this time, and I finally got it!" She used to practically beg us for money every week to support her habit. We would sometimes give her $2-$3, but we would always pray for her deliverance and healing. She had suffered with severe pain throughout her body for years. Tuesday night, she testified that she was pain free, delivered, and didn't need anything! To God be the glory!!!

Toinght (Thursday, Nov. 15th), we have our monthly Broken Pieces outreach at the "Making A Way" transitional housing facility in Atlanta's West End. A team of volunteers from Abundant Life Assembly of God in Jackson, Ga. will be with us, and will supply the food, lead us all in worship and share testimonies. We expect a good crowd. Afterwards, we will take the leftover food to the regular location on Whitehall Street, and feed and minister to our homeless friends there. We expect to be out till around midnight tonight.

Tomorrow afternoon, we have an outreach in Athens, Georgia. It is being organized by one of our volunteers who lives there. We plan to equip the saints there for front-lines, open-air and one-on-one minstry as well as power evangelism and healing the sick in the name of Jesus Christ. We will be taking the big cross out on the street with us, as it always helps us in drawing a crowd (the cross is 10 ft. tall and 5 ft. across at the cross-beam ).

As I write this post, our ministry van is still in the repair shop. Please agree with us in prayer for a newer van so that we can continue to reach out here in the inner-city. We are also beliveing God for a ministry trailer to help us transport food, blankets, clothes, tables, chairs and other items we use regularly for outreach.

Please agree with us in prayer that lost souls will be convicted of sin and born from above, that the backslidden will experience godly sorrow and return to their first-love, that the sick and afflicted will receive healing and deliverance, and the saints will be filled with the Spirit of God and equipped for service, in Jesus name, amen!

We love and appreciate you all!

"We Like to Move It, Move It!"

To God be the glory! We finally got everything moved out of our apartment in Locust Grove and up here to Covington at "The Loft". We actually turned in our apartment keys on Sunday, the 28th, which was also the final day of our outreach in Atlanta. In the middle of all this activity, our ministry van, which has almost 250,000 miles on it broke down for the third time. We were able to use it during the outreach this past weekend, but the transmission was slipping pretty severely the whole time. We are trusting God to supply us with a newer, better van soon. He is faithful, and has already begun to lay this need on the heart of many of those of you who love us and believe in what we do here in the ATL. We are not worried at all. God has this, amen?!

The outreach this past weekend was wonderful! We had people here from South Dakota, Charlotte, and different parts of Atlanta staying with us during the outreach. We also had others who met with us in downtown Atlanta as we hit the streets to minister. Several people surrendered their lives to the Lord Jesus during the outreach, and there were people who received physical healing. Also, the 13 year old daughter of one of the ladies who came from Charlotte received salvation and was filled with the Holy Spirit!

We took time to equip those who came in the areas of ministering God's healing power to the sick and afflicted on the street, intercessory prayer for the lost, and how to win souls right out on the streets. We also engaged in open-air preaching during the outreach, and saw people surrender to Jesus Christ as a result.

We had two different people who serenaded us with gospel songs during the outreach, and a homeless couple actually ministered prophetically to two of our volunteers who came. "...God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise...that no flesh should glory in His presence."

One of the men who came down from South Dakota knew about our ministry here because he had received the baptism in the Holy Spirit as the result of watching a video I recorded and posted on GodTube several years ago called "Power From On High". (There have been people from all over the world who have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit as the reult of watching this same video. It cannot be viewed from a smartphone; only from a computer). He brought two of his friends with him who had also received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The wives of these three men stayed together while their husbands were here for the outreach. Two of these women had already received the baptism in the Holy spirit, and while they were together, they prayer for the other one and she also received the baptism in the Holy Spirit!
We got to talk to all of them via Skype video, and they were very happy and excited!

We will have about twenty UGA students staying here in the big loft from January through March. Agree with us in prayer that God will give us divine appointments to minister to them, and that many of them will have their eyes opened, and will be turned from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.

We want to schedule a large outreach sometime in April. This will give us the opportunity to equip the Saints for the work of the ministry, through miracles of healing, and through signs and wonders done in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus. Send me a message if you want to come or if you want to bring a team.

Transitional Housing Outreach

In addition to the Tuesday night Broken Pieces Outreach we do every week in the open-air on Whitehall Street, and the Sunday outreaches in and around Woodruff Park, BPOM has begun a new monthly outreach at a transitional housing facility in the West End area of Atlanta called "Making A Way Housing". We had our first outreach there last week, and will be going there the last Thursday night of every month.

A team of volunteers from Abundant Life Assembly of God in Jackson, led by Josh and Alicia Gentle are partnering with us for this monthly outreach, and are preparing the meals as we serve the people there.

This past Thursday night, we had about 25-30 people show up from the facility. We fed them a spaghetti dinner, and just got to know them for about the first hour and a half. Then, we had a dear brother, Mark Gibson, share his testimony with everyone. Many of those present were visably moved, and it softened many hearts.

I then stood and preached a short message on being delivered from life controlling addictions through absolute surrender to Jesus Christ, and through faith in Him. When I gave the altar-call several men and women came forward, with every head up and every eye opened, to commit themselves to Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior!

We also saw two people healed by the power of God, in the name of Jesus Christ!

There was so much food left over, we all decided to go to a large parking lot behind Garnett Station in Atlanta and offer a spaghetti dinner to the homeless who sleep there. We were able to feed and minister to about forty of them.

At the end of the night, souls were saved, bodies were healed and lives were forever changed. WE LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Testimonies From Our Last Outreach:

Earlier this month, we had our first outreach at the ministry loft. A team came from Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. We also had others who came from south Georgia and North Carolina. Five members of the team from Elevation Church who came received a powerful baptism in the Holy Spirit. Lives were radically transformed! You can read the testimonies of some of those who came under the "Testimonies" post on this blog, and also one of the comments under "Going Forward - Remaining Faithful..."

Broken Pieces Outreach with volunteers from Christ Chapel

What a tremendous outreach we had on the streets of Atlanta tonight. Our friends from Christ Chapel in Zebulon, Georgia brought about 50 volunteers. They provided a delicious meal, clothes, shoes and one-on-one ministry to about fifty or more of our homeless friends at a location on Whitehall Street in Atlanta.

I preached a message from 1Corinthians 13 on love. Many were deeply convicted and came forward publicly for prayer as they surrendered their all to Jesus Christ.

We love what we do here on the streets of Atlanta. The people who are healed, saved and set free from years of addiction by the power of God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, receive because the Church comes together out where the people are to bless, love and give of their time and resources to reach these precious people God deserately wants.  We appreciate the opprtunity to serve the Lord by loving these people.

Going Forward...Remaining Faithful

As many of you who are reading this blog already know, the ministry Pat and I have been part of for the past 2 1/2 years, Rescue Atlanta Ministries, has closed it's doors. Rescue Atlanta provided so many services to help the homeless, it would be nearly impossible to replace. That ministry served the homeless in the inner-city of Atlanta for 23 years, preaching the Gospel, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and even providing showers for people four days a week. Rescue Atlanta also held regular outreaches, with many teams of students and other vounteers who came to the facility from all over the U.S. Pat and I had the priviledge of being in charge of many of the outreaches of this great ministry, taking teams to the streets of Atlanta for evangelism. After a training session , we would then all go out and minister to people on the street, in parks and to the homeless wherever we found them. The closing of Rescue Atlanta has left a huge hole in the city, and many of our homeless friends are starting to realize just how important this ministry was to them.

Pat and I believe God has called us to continue what we have been doing here for the past 2 1/2 years, serving the homeless and the body of Christ through having regular outreaches, and taking teams of students and volunteers to continue reaching the people God desperately wants. We have rented a large loft in Covington, Ga. about 30 minutes from the city, where we can house and train teams of up to 20 (10 men and 10 women) for outreach on the streets of Atlanta. Just last weekend, we had our first team come and stay at our new facility, and we had a powerful time of ministry. Out of the 10 people who were with us, we discovered that 5 of them had not yet received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. On Friday night after the teaching on prayer, we laid hands on those five and all of them received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues!

On Saturday morning, I taught the team on power evangelism, and specifically how to minister God's healing power to the sick and afflicted outside the church walls. After lunch, we all loaded up and headed downtown to Woodruff Park, located in the center of Atlanta near the Five Points Marta train station. As the teams began to minister to the people, the people opened their hearts. Several were healed of various sicknesses and torments. Several of them were deeply moved and surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. It was wonderful! That night, when we arrived back at the loft, everyone shared their experiences, and we all had a wonderful time giving glory to God for all He accomplished in us and through us.

On Sunday, we all went back to Woodruff Park for a time of worship and minitry. Several people came from different areas of the park to see what we were doing, and two were healed and four surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ right there in public. Glory to God!!

Pat and I will officially move to Covington in October, and we will stay in a small loft in the same building where the large minstry loft is located. The landlord has graciously given us permission to have outreach teams come and stay there on the weekends before we officially move in. By doing this, we can have the rent covered for a month or more before we move in. Perhaps some of you reading this have a desire to come and bring a team with you to be trained and equipped for evangelism and healing ministry. Perhaps you are part of a group of believers who have a desire to help people who are desperate and hurting, but don't yet have the experience to know how to get started.

Broken Pieces Outreach Ministries is dedicated to both reaching the lost and afflicted here in Atlanta with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as equipping the saints to do the same. Our contact information is located in another post on this blog. Send us an email or call us to shedule a team to come and be trained for outreach on a Friday through Sunday.

Broken Pieces Pics

Video

This man was healed sitting in his SUV. I met his wife inside a government building. She watched a woman she knew get instantly healed of a torn rotator-cuff by the name of Jesus Christ inside a large waiting room when I ministered to her. She asked if I could minister to her husband who was outside in the car. He was suffering with incredible pain in his back from cervical disk disease. The name of Jesus Christ healed him instantly! To God be all the glory!!!

Testimonies

Dear Joel and Pat,

Words cannot describe my eternal gratitude for allowing me to be part of the Holy Spirit Encounter. You are the most amazing couple I have ever met in my whole entire life. Your dedication to spreading the gospel, healing the sick, as well as the compassion to help others blew me away!

Thank you so very much for accomodating our team. It was the most amazing, eye opening and life changing experience! May God bless you always and forever!!!

In one week I have learned so much about myself, my youth group, other youth groups and God. I saw things I can't even explain, saw things I probably would have never seen in my life if I didn't go... I have met so many amazing people. I'm thankful to GOD and what He has showed me in this past week and letting me get to know everyone. This week went by too fast...

What We Do:

We have a Training Center located in Covington, Georgia where we equip and train students in the areas of:

- Prayer and intercession

- Open-air preaching

- One-on-one evangelism

- Healing the sick and afflicted in Jesus' name

- Ministerring to the homeless, drug-addicts, alcoholics and those bound by various addictions

We do this though classroom training, as well as hands-on, front lines ministry on the streets of inner-city Atlanta. We have years of experience ministering on the streets, in prisons, malls, homes and even in Church services among so-called, "normal" people.

We see people in the worst of circumstances changed by the power of the name of Jesus Christ, and miracles of healing and deliverance occur every week.

We have a special weekly outreach in Atlanta every Tuesday night in which we feed and minister to 40-70 homeless men and women. Teams of volunteers from several local Churches and ministries from different areas of the city come and help us every week. The people we minister to know and love us, and they know that we love them.

On Saturday, we take to the street for ministry in the inner-city, many times carrting a huge 10 foot wooden cross. This has been a powerful tool in arresting the attention of the people we want to minister to, and many people will approach us on the street to see what we are doing.

Sunday afternoon, we conduct open-air worship and preaching in a park in the center of Atlanta. People come to hear from other areas of the park, and many of them are healed and saved as a result.

During the Spring and Summer, we have teams of up to 20 youth and youth leaders come and stay at our facility to be trained and equipped for ministry and outreach on the streets of Atlanta.

Who We Are:

Broken Pieces Outreach Ministries is a front-lines ministry. We focus on equipping the saints, reaching the lost, healing the sick and setting captives free, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are based near Atlanta, Georgia, and have been going to the streets of the inner-city every week: feeding the homeless, sharing one-on-one, preaching in the open-air, laying hands on the sick and afflicted for healing and seeing many miracles every week for over six years.
